You got Questions? We got Answers! What is the purpose of the site? With the changes going on in the music industry and the major labels losing money and being very hesitant to sign up any new artists, the new music will have to come from the independents. But most indie musicians lack the resources to properly market themselves. They don't have the 'deep pockets' of a major label. This is where Indie 500 comes in. We are building 'the world's largest indie label'. Musicians helping each other in marketing their music. Rating each others songs on iTunes and Amazon. Sharing their connections with internet and college radio DJs. Is there really no charge to list my group and upload my songs? There is no charge to list your band and to upload up to three songs. We do have to charge a small fee if you would like to list more than 3 songs. This charge is $19.95 for each three additional songs per year (You can list up to a dozen) . This is to cover the expense of server space and bandwidth for those songs. For the rest, we depend on our sponsors and hope that you will use their services and offerings when you need them. We also hope that you share whatever leads you have to radio and DJs in your area so our list of contacts can grow. If each artist just submits 10 leads, we can have a thousand additional outlets to market our music to. Everybody wins! What do I need to get started? You need to fill out the artist application and give us the links to your web site so we can listen to your music. We do need to keep the quality level of our artists high, otherwise radio stations would be disappointed with the quality of our acts and soon lose interest in downloading any music from us. So, sorry, we can't approve everybody. Who qualifies for a Media/Radio Account to download songs? To be able to download our broadcast quality music tracks, you have to show that you work at a radio station, college radio, run a internet station, record pool etc. We do not allow downloads from individuals. |
